Description
Walking around the Woodstock Opera House, looking up and down, I found this natural gas access point in the sidewalk. This would not have been of great note other than the texture of the sidewalk was interrupted by the area of gray where the level sidewalk was eroded away leaving something of a mysterious looking gray mass; perhaps a bad sidewalk patch. I pointed the camera down, released the shutter and this image is the result.
I must add, I had not given this image much of a look until I was looking at the images from that days photographs when something in the RAW image thumbnail grabbed my attention. Deciding to take a look allowed me to make a few adjustments to the original exposure, squaring the horizontal and vertical axis and cropping the image in order to locate the cast iron GAS lid away from dead center. I added a bit of contrast and some vibrance and saturation as well.
