The area farthest to the north in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore in Michigan City, Indiana lies in close proximity to the Michigan City Generating Station. The station is a coal and natural gas-fired power plant located on the shore of Lake Michigan in Michigan City, Indiana. It is operated by Northern Indiana Public Service Company. Often mistaken for a nuclear station due to its cooling towers, I was particularly taken by the ironic proximity of the power lines from that station and the preservation of the Indiana dunes. Astonishing proximity.

Your vision here is simply marvelous, Roger. The juxtapose between the clouds and the wires is clever creative ... good eye ... great photography and Great Art!!
Roger Passman replied:
Frank you are the best. I truly appreciate your thoughtful comment on this (perhaps my all time favorite) image. The irony of these protected dunes set right next to the polluting coal and oil burning power station is almost too much to take except that it makes for some powerful photography. Thanks again.
