Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Image shot on a cold October morning at Le Aqua Na State Park near Lena, Illinois. The park facilities were closed for the season when I visited there. No one was on the lake fishing. Fall colors were brilliant. I converted a single raw file to HDR using Photomatix.
