Artist's Description

Sedona, Arizona is a rich environment for photographers to explore. This image was photographed along AZ 89a to the south of Slide Rock State Park. I was about to hike a trail down the cliff face when I turned and saw this Vortex Juniper, roots exposed as it clung to its vulnerable perch. It was framing a small, unnamed creek flowing into Oak Creek so I turned framed and focused and made one exposure. In processing I softened the image up a bit in the Camera Raw filter and added a vignette using ON1 Effects filter.
