Climbing on a road in the Inyo National Forest leading to the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest on a beautiful early summer morning, I managed to turn to the west. There, across the Owens Valley, stood the Sierra Nevada Range with its snow-capped peaks. In front of me was high Mohave desert framing the Sierras. Pulling off to the side of the road, I managed to cross a barrier and walk to a spot where the view was simply perfect. I set my aperture at 28mm allowing for a wide angle effect without much disorientation that a shorter focal length would produce.
