Artist's Description

Shot at Johnson's Mound in Elburn, Illinois, a Kane County Forest Preserve, this forest footpath reminded me of just how lost one can feel in the woods. Johnson's Mound is a fine example of an Illinois hardwood forest, in this image decked out in the richest of fall colors.

I processed the raw image file using filters from Topaz Labs and ON1 as well as some minor tweaking in Photoshop including sCurve adjustments, brightness, saturation and the camera raw filter to produce this image.
