The Bruner Family Farm Forest Preserve in Dundee Illinois contains 741 acres that run from the Fox River on the east to IL 31 on the west. Recently the Forest Preserve district leased a small part of the land for five years to organic farmer Cliff McConville of Barrington Natural Farms. The 741-acre preserve has a farm on the property. McConville plans to have dairy cows, chickens and pigs on the property by June, and will plant 30 acres of the land. He hopes to set up a milking parlor. There is evidence of improvements already made by McConville. There are free range chickens that may be seen driving along IL 31. A small herd of dairy cows roam free pastures. The milking barn in this image shows signs of repairs especially on the roof where gutters and downspouts are newly installed and the roof itself appears to be repaired. A new fence surrounds the acreage leased for organic farming.

I processed the raw image file using Photomatix Pro 5, filters from Topaz Labs including Detail 3 and DeJPEG 4 as well as some minor tweaking in Photoshop including sCurve adjustments, brightness, saturation and the camera raw filter to produce this hdr image.
