Artist's Description
Bodie, California… a town frozen in time in a “state of arrested decay.” Bodie is an original mining town from the late 1800’s. What’s left today stands in a state of “arrested decay” and is maintained by the California State Parks System, who took over the town in 1962 to make it a State Historic Park.
This image of the interior of a general store was photographed with my 18-55mm lens set at 18mm creating a very wide view in to the interior of the store. The state of “arrested decay” poses the practical problem of trying to find a straight line in both exteriors as well as interiors of buildings. The conversion to black and white seemed to me to best sugggest the age and status of the building.

About Roger Passman
Forty-eight of my most popular images (based on views and sales) are found on the front page of my images gallery. Others love them, perhaps you will too! The first hint of cold, generally sometime in late October I flee the dreadful weather and head to Arizona. Conversely, when the temperature reaches 105 degrees for five consecutive days I run from the dreadful heat back to the humidity of the midwest. That, my friends, explains the split...
