CONGRATULATIONS, Roger! This exceptional image has been FEATURED on the homepage of the FAA Group No Place Like Home, 8/2/2016!

Artist's Description

The headwaters of the Big Thompson River begin in Forest Canyon within Rocky Mountain National Park in Larimer County, Colorado. The river flows east through Moraine Park to the town of Estes Park. There it is held in Lake Estes by the Olympus Dam before being released into the Big Thompson Canyon. The river flows some 80 miles through Colorado until it flows into the North Platte River.

This image was made along the north bank of the river as it emerges from the moraine valley cascading toward Lake Estes. I selected black and white for this particular view of the cascade in order to emphasize the mystery of time as it is transformed from four-dimensions into two thereby archiving a singular moment documenting a vision of the moment.

Don't forget to look there and beyond too. _____________________________ I divide my time between Chicago in the summer and Phoenix in the winter. The first hint of cold, generally sometime in late October I flee the dreadful weather and head to Arizona. Conversely, when the temperature reaches 105 degrees for five consecutive days I run from the dreadful heat back to the humidity of the midwest. That, my friends, explains the split...
