I shot this view of ancient palm trees at the Thousand Palms Preserve in the Coachella Valley, California. The preserve sits at the feet of the Indio Hills, 10 minutes from Palm Springs. The preserve is a true desert oasis. The trees in this image emerged from a marsh area not far from the spring itself. The trees are in their natural state, untrimmed and otherwise unattended except for the maintanence of trails and boardwalks allowing one to see these magnificent trees.
