The Superstition Wilderness is a vast tract of desert in the Tonto National Forest. Superstition Mountain marks the western edge of the wilderness and the eastern edge is marked by Tonto National Monument. This image was created on a late winter morning as the brittlebush was flowering. Its bright yellow flowers form a carpet of color across an otherwise bland landscape. This image was exposed with light from the left at around 2 o-clock. In post-processing I added HDR and a vignette to burn in the corners of the image allowing an audience to be drawn into the center of the landscape.
